Formed and based in Chicago early in 1996
by Artie Carlson and Andrew Spencer, with the later
addition of bassist Steve Hahn, HYDRO STATIC UNION
has finally achieved the perfect lineup, found their
sound and have moved to the cutting edge of the music
world.
The three bandmates of HYDRO STATIC UNION have
been long time friends. They have been able to maintain a
strong friendship and an equally strong dedication to
their music/business relationship. HYDRO STATIC UNION
blends the contrasting musical and personal backgrounds
of the three members. The result is a truly interesting
and unique blend of aggressive, tripnotic, millineumistic
sound that their fans have come to expect - the
unexpected.
The strength of this power trios music lies in the fusion
of intensely effected, innovative guitar and vocal
melodies backed by a tight rhythm section. The fat and
funky killer grooves, topped off with sweet loops and
digital samples creates an effect that grabs the listener
by the throat and by the feet . This experimental mix
builds to climax, then rebuilds tension for the next
explosion. Meanwhile, the clean and cutting lyrics of
front man Spencer paint a reflective picture of issues,
angst, and personalities of the 2000's and beyond. The
extreme passion of HYDRO STATIC UNION's musical
